City of Boulder Trail Crew Lead, Assistant Lead and Crew Member

The City of Boulder, Colorado Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) is seeking applications for seasonal Trails Crew Lead and Trails Crew Member positions for the 2016 field season.  OSMP provides a great opportunity to work on an extensive mountain and plains trail system for people seeking a challenging and engaging trail crew work opportunity.  Position descriptions and information on how to apply are posted at:

Lead a 3-6 person trail crew in the construction, repair, and maintenance of trails and related facilities and perform related duties, as assigned. The Trails Crew Lead positions lead a 3-6 person trail crew in the construction, repair, and maintenance of Open Space and Mountain Parks trails and related facilities. Coordinate with the Trails Supervisor and Trail Maintenance Staff to manage pertinent logistics, personnel management, tools/equipment, crew training, and scheduling to complete trail construction/maintenance projects. Position requires a wide variety of knowledge and abilities in the field of trail construction and maintenance to include: materials excavation/grading, carpentry, dry stone work, and operation of a motor vehicle, mechanized equipment and trailers. Position requires working outside in inclement weather, and minimum impact construction skills. Position requires working/hiking up to 10 hours per day. Position requires the ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry loads of 50 pounds, or more with the assistance of others, repeatedly on grades and sloped terrain. Trails Crew Lead positions will assist in training and supervising Jr. Rangers, AmeriCorps, volunteers, and other groups and individuals assigned to trail projects. Trails Crew Lead position requires the Knowledge, Skills and Ability to perform the duties of Trails Crew Member position.
