How do you live conservation in your daily life?

I ride my bike to work every day, I buy locally and organic when possible,  I conserve energy and water, I advocate locally, and I teach others.

Its a hard balance...I drive a Prius, but I put nearly 20,000 miles on my Prius last year. Its tough. I think living conservation is a mindset that needs to penetrate everything you do...and an effort to off-set the over-consumption that dictates our lives.

I try not to buy things, if I dont need them. I compost. I have a garden in the summer. I try to buy locally and organic, as well. But, its an awareness of your everyday actions that matter.

I have been using practicallygreen.com to set up some personal "green" goals in 2012.  The site is kind of an interactive self-assessment tool.  I would be interested to hear if others are using it and if they find it motivating.
