Alumni and others! If you are 18-34, apply TODAY for this leadership opportunity with the National Parks Conservation Association. Application looks easy!

Must be able to serve for two years and travel (expenses paid).

There will be accepting additional candidates later in the year, so keep them in mind.

Several of you have mentioned that you are currently on Oahu. I will be visiting Oahu to recruit Oct 6- 12. I would love to meet with those of you who are interested in possibly doing an internship on the islands. We have several upcoming positions which have requested students who currently live in Hawaii.

Outdoor Nation is holding outdoor conferences throughout the US. Within the region they will be holding a conference in Los Angeles, CA on Oct 19- 20. SCA would love to sponsor environmenally conscious and SCA affiliated students to attend this event. I've provided a link below.  This is an opportunity for you to get outdoor leadership training, community advocacy training, and network with other outdoor organizations and leaders in the outdoor movement including SCA alumni. If you are interested in attending this event please:
-register via the link below and under affiliates they will want to list SCA

Majority of the HI positions are set to last for 4 months. It is definitely in your best interest to obtain these certifications. However, the HI positions have not listed that as a candidate requirement. The certification section on the application is not an application requirement. Rather this section of the application is in place for candidates to list what certifications they have, if they have any.

Hi,

I went to fill the application, but then I found that I do not currently have many of the certifications they listed on the application. I think I will at least try to get the Wilderness first responder and cpr certification before going any further. For how many weeks is the Maui internship?

Hi All,

I am serving at Pearl Harbor here in Honolulu, and wondered if there are any other interns on the island? I am hoping to connect with other SCA interns!

Hi Deanna, I live in Hawaii, in downtown Honolulu. I really want to get involved with projects going on in Oahu or any of the other islands. Feel free to reach me at earlymorningsun0503@yahoo.com.

Thanks

Daniela O.

Hi Heather,

I'm happy to answer your questions. There are several opportunities throughout the Southwest. A good starting place for pursing internships is to review our "hot list" of positions http://thesca.org/serve/internships/hot. With regards to Hawaii. There are several positions opening in Hawaii at the start of 2014. However, as to be expected internships in Hawaii are some of the hardest positions to get. I recommend you review the link above. Please email me at dwyatt@thesca.org with your availability dates and can move forward from there.

What openings are available for non-locals? I could see myself serving otside of my neck of the woods, VT/NH, and serving in HI? I can share my availability with you, if you would share any openings in HI with me? Im currently in the field in VT serving with the SCA Green Mountain Trail Team, and am looking to venture away from this neck of the woods!

Get back to me, Thank you!

-Heather
