Hey DC area folks! The SCA is looking for new members to serve on its Alumni Council. If you participated in an SCA program in the last 6 years and want to get more involved with the organization, this is a perfect way to do it. To find out more about the Alumni Council and to access the application, go to thesca.org/alumni/council. Thanks!

Hi DC area group! I'm a prospective parent...my daughter Rachel has been accepted to the high school Conservation Leadership Corps. I'm trying to quickly get some references about the program from past participants or parents...she has to let them know by Wednesday. I'm particularly interested in supervision and safety issues on the retreats. You can reply here or send me a private message on my facebook page or at nsimmons@jhsph.edu. Thanks!

Hey y'all, just wanted to chime in and say what-up? to everyone, and welcome the new faces who have joined the group lately. Things at VCU are going well, and as the students return my work is in full effect.

Thanks Danielle! Those are some great photos. Are you on Twitter? What's your handle? I'd like to tweet about this from @the_sca.

Thanks for the heads-up, Danielle. That sounds cool. What website will your photos end up on? Post a link, I'd love to see it!

Hey you guys!! My name is Antica. I am originally from DC but now live in Maryland. I am here this summer in the DC office as the Program assistant to Monique. I have been on 4 Community Crews, on a Community Crew as a Crew Leader Apprentice, and now the Program Assistant for the summer. I am currently enrolled in college as a Environmental Studies major. I am looking forward to staying with SCA. Please let me know of any events in the area!!

:)

Glad to see new faces joining the DC group. Welcome to the group and feel free to contact others regarding SCA opportunities in the region. I am the Southeast Recruiting Coordinator and I have info on SCA positions throughout the whole US. I also work with staff and alumni in the area to facilitate SCA events and can help out folks who want to get involved with SCA events in the region.

Hello everyone. I am an intern in West VA, Canaan Valley to be exact and there is no place like it:)... Originally from D.C. Glad to see environmental work in the area. Would like to participate in community projects in the future... Anyways I am here to connect and broaden my network with others who are interested in btu not limited to environmental protection, restoration, and sustainable agriculture.

Hi guys! I'm an intern at the Urban Tree House in Anacostia Park (we do fun environmental education programs with students k-12). It's my first position with SCA, and I'm loving it.
Danielle, Manassas is my hometown, thanks for taking care of its park!
