Does all this snow have you yearning for a day on the beach? Here's your opportunity! Join SCA for a service event at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge and help in the continuing storm recovery effort.
WHEN: Saturday, February 15th, 9:30am-2:00pm
WHERE: Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, Queens. (SCA will provide a free shuttle bus at 9:00am from Brooklyn College.)
WHAT: Clearing debris from the beach, pruning overgrown vegetation, & laying groundwork for a new wheelchair-accessible trail.
BRING WITH YOU: Wear warm layers and sturdy shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
PROVIDED: SCA will provide breakfast and lunch for volunteers as well as work gloves, SCA water bottles (to take home), and all project supplies.
This event is part of SCA's yearlong "ConSERVE NYC" initiative, offering a series of public service projects around New York City. (Read more at www.thesca.org/conservenyc.) Friends, family, and just about anyone is welcome in addition to SCA members and alums!
Call or email me with questions at email@example.com or 724-678-9401. We hope to see you on the beach!
