SCA Service Day at Hudson River Park, November 17th, 2012

On Saturday, November 17th, two dozen SCA members, staff, and alumni came together to help restore Hudson River Park after Hurricane Sandy. Participants spanned two generations of SCA, with alums from the 1990s sharing stories with recent high school summer crew participants. Volunteers raked up leaves and debris, restored topsoil and mulch that had been swept away by the storm surge, and planted new flower bulbs for the spring. Thanks to their efforts, the Habitat Garden and other areas of the park heavily damaged in the storm are now open again for the public to enjoy.
