For high school students, summer jobs can be a kind of necessary drudgery. But a Peninsula parks program offers urban youth a chance to work outdoors – and for some, a life-changing experience. San Mateo County is now in its fourth year with the nationwide Student Conservation Association. About 50 young people…

Good Day,
How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately.I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on this email( mabawuah11@gmail.com ) for the full details,
Have a nice day
Thanks God bless.
Mrs Abiola.
Thanks! I made it back in one piece. I'll miss making snowballs and gently placing them on the ground.
Hey Deanna! I'm trying to start up my NPS Academy outreach now so that I'm all ready to go when I get back to LA. Since none of these are schools that I went to, I'm not sure who to talk to or how to set up an info session (or something of that sort). Any tips??
Panamint Sand Dunes, from a hike last fall.
Thanks for the info! I'll definitely have to keep that in mind after this internship.
That sounds awesome! I've never been caving before, but it sounds fun! Free EMT training!? I would love that. I'll do some research on some of those parks/places. I don't know if I'm going to do an internship next summer, but I definitely think I'll be back in another year or two. I've got to talk to On Lee about opportunities in the future. She'll be here soon.
I saw some pictures of you in caves! Where and how was that!? Repelling? Yeah, the weather up here is a lot nicer than it would've been in the south. Is it hot in Cali?
Haha, I wonder how you heard about that...unfortunately, the reports of my attendance are greatly exaggerated, but I will still be helping out with the SCA service project the day before the Outdoor Nation summit begins here in Boston, which should be a lot of fun!
Speaking of having fun, I hope all is well out in SF, have a great time at Outdoor Nation LA, and keep in touch!
