The Last Stretch at Fort Pulaski!

Happy New Year! 2015 has brought us much progress so far! We are coming to an end on clearing the two bunkers at the West end of Cockspur Island.  We started with the small bunker, fighting the twisted Yaupon Holly, and stumbling over the harsh, thorny Dewberry vines. Within 3 days, the vegetation was removed and finished with a 20% solution of Triclopyr with Basal Oil spray.

Hello, my name is Elizabeth Mitchell and I have been living in Alaska for the past 5 years. I moved up here on July 4th 2009 and have been here ever since. I have been a member with the Student Conservation Association for about a year now and have been applying to internships like crazy!!!! I just recently was accepted into the National Park Service Academy and was wondering if anyone has any tips before I go to the Orientation and start my internship in the summer? If so, please let me…
