The Student Conservation Association's Online Community
Welcome to the coolest page on here. There is no charge for awesomeness. (Quick, what movie is that from?!)
I've been kicking around these here parts for awhile. I did four seasons as the Midwest Recruiter for SCA and am getting ready to start my third season as the Northeast Recruiter. I have been to literally over 100 schools to talk to people about the amazing program known as SCA, and I'm excited to answer any questions you have about SCA, your application, or what it's like to be part of an SCA program (although its been a few years, I've done three of them!). Even if you are not located in my region, I'm still happy to be a resource to you.
Some cool things that have happened on my travels:
I was at the Points of Light Conference last week and heard Kevin Bacon talk. I was really hoping he was going to do some moves from "Footloose", but I guess that wasn't in the cards. There were also some other amazing and inspriational speakers there, including Barbara Bush.
I met Olympic skiier Jonny Mosley.
I've held snakes, turtles, grass hoppers and lizards, whether in the field visiting interns or checking out Science departments at college campuses.
I met Boston's Mayor Menino and Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar.
I've had the chance to meet with thousands and thousands of applicants and get them excited for SCA.
In other words: my job is pretty awesome!
I look forward to connecting with you!
