The Student Conservation Association's Online Community
Community Programs: Conservation Leadership Corps and Summer Community Crews. SCA Community Programs offer high school students the opportunity to explore their city's green spaces and contribute to the health of their local environment. There are two types of community programs: Conservation Leadership Corps (CLC) and Summer Community Crews. CLC members volunteer on weekends throughout the school year, building trails, restoring waterfronts, and conserving habitats, all within their home cities. Summer Community Crew members commute each day for 6 to 7 weeks during the summer to complete service projects in national, regional, and state parks. Both types of Community Programs offer educational field trips and recreational camping excursions. SCA currently operates Community Programs in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Jacksonville, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Stamford, and Washington, DC.
